Our historic church building is kept in wonderful condition by a team of faithful volunteers, and the generous giving of the church family.

For significant repairs and improvements, we are extremely grateful for the financial support of the wider village community, as well as from local and national charities.

Extensive work on the building has been completed since 2007 supported by grants from:

The Friends of St Mary’s Long Crendon was established to enable people of all faiths and none to support the upkeep of the historic church building. The committee organises fund raising events in the village throughout the year, whilst Friends set up regular giving that is restricted to the purpose of repairs and improvements to the building. If you would like become a Friend, please contact the chair, Martin Kettle, via email: Friends@FSMLongCrendon.org

Buckinghamshire Historic Churches Trust (BHCT) was founded in 1957 by the then Lord Lieutenant, Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, and the Bishop of Buckingham, the Right Reverend Robert Milton Hay, who had collected the sum of one hundred pounds to be held and applied by them.

With funds raised since then from the people of Buckinghamshire, the Trust has given grants of over £1,000,000 towards the repair and restoration of over 300 churches of all denominations in the County and continues to do so, at the rate of some £60,000 each year.

Benefact Trust exists to make a positive difference to people’s lives by funding, guiding and celebrating the work of churches and Christian charities; empowering the most vulnerable and giving people, communities and places a renewed opportunity to flourish. We are working to change lives and communities for the long-term. It’s more than supporting the repair, restoration, protection, improvement, reach and growth of places of Christian worship; our grants are designed to have a positive impact on the wider community, tackling social issues from homelessness and poverty, to climate change and cultural cohesion.

Since 1994, The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded £9.5billion raised by National Lottery players and on behalf of the UK and devolved governments to more than 53,000 heritage projects across the UK.
